Follow these instructions to create a separate resource (user account) for the integration with IT Glue.
Instructions
- Hover your mouse over the Autotask icon (top left corner) to access the main menu. Navigate to Admin > Resources (Users).
- Click the drop-down arrow beside + New and select New API User.
- In the Add API User window, enter/select the following:
- General section:
- First and last name
- Email address
- Security Level - Select API User (system) in the drop-down menu.
- Username (key) - Enter a key of your choice or click Generate Key.
- Password (secret) - Enter a password of your choice or click Generate Secret.
Important. Store your API credentials - your username (key) and password (secret) - in a secure location. You will need them again to integrate IT Glue with Autotask.
- API Tracking Identifier section:
- Integration Vendor - Select ITG - Documentation Management in the drop-down menu.
- Integration Vendor - Select ITG - Documentation Management in the drop-down menu.
- General section:
- Click Save & Close at the top of the window.
- Access the main menu and navigate to Admin > Feature & Settings > Resources/Users (HR). In the Security sub-section, click Protected Data Permission.
- Check the View Protected Data box for the integrator role and then click Save.
You now have an integrator resource for IT Glue.
